oak park, il

in eighteen hundred and eighty-nine,
nine miles outside the city chicago so fine,
frank lloyd wright built a family home
complete with open spaces for his children to roam.
as the years went by, he added a studio too,
where he created houses and building which are beautiful to view.
during our chicago visit we went to explore,
by joining the frank lloyd wright home and studio tour.

highland park, il

highland park, a small lake michigan suburban town,
has beautiful beaches that never make you frown.
want to visit?  then bicycle on over,
on streets lined with homes, floral, fauna and clover.
when you arrive beware the water might be nippy,
but you'll soon adjust and leave happy and skippy.

on our way to the beach on beach bikes!  beach time, below.

lincoln park chicago, il

we began our trip to chicago with food and treats,
specifically tasty cookies, one of the best sweets.
the cookie bar in chicago was a great place for a photo shoot,
and offered 20 delicious cookie flavors to boot!

after filling our tummies and taking lots of pictures,
we found one of lincoln park's permanent fixtures -
the chicago school of hot yoga where we practiced tree pose,
thinking about peace, more cookies, and forgetting our woes.

our day ended at a rather charming yet seemingly empty bookstore,
and finally to the chicago history museum which left us wanting more.

chicago, we like you.
