bun festival, cheung chau, hong kong

every year on buddha's birthday,
people gather to celebrate.
in cheung chau a festival of buns is held,
good health and protection it commemorates.

make buns, sell buns, race for buns, eat buns,
that is what the locals would have you do.
join in their party and local culture,
while admiring bun towers made from bamboo.

seoul, south korea (2)

for our last evening in seoul we went back to our favorite stream,
on the way we ran into protesters making quite a scene.
in order to escape we walked with them for a bit,
and saw throngs of riot police ready for hit.
doughnuts and yummy treats were found along the way,
combined with music and art, it made a perfect day.

changdeokgung palace, seoul, south korea

another palace in the heart of seoul,
with a secret garden in which you may stroll.
a pleasant way to spend a sunday afternoon,
as our time in seoul will end very soon.
